If I’m looking for some alternative culture and cutting edge art, I know I can always count on The Southern Gallery. Husband and wife owners Erin and Justin Nathanson opened their contemporary art gallery to support the emerging artists in the south. The modern concrete building that’s hidden behind the Pizza Hut on the corner of Line and Meeting Street looks like it belongs more in Wynwood, Miami then in downtown Charleston. The Southern Gallery represents Charleston’s progressive movement and are pioneers in the art scene.
